A street scene with construction scaffolding in Queen West, Toronto, Canada

Safety First

Another shot from strolling around Queen West in Toronto a couple months back in the fall. The starkness of the construction scaffolding caught my eye. I had to tinker with this quite a bit to get the feel I was looking for.

For some reason, there has been a burst of fantastic images in the past couple of days on the photoblogs I follow. Check out the following Images of the Day:

First, a great example of toning: "Leuty Pier" on MUTE.

Next, a beautiful B&W: "Crashed Bike" on daily dose of imagery.

Third, an image that perfectly conveys "grit": "Forever" on G8.

Fourth, a heartstopping photodocumentary style shot: "Orphaned" on thedailysunrise.

Finally, "Field", also on MUTE, reminded me of an image of mine I like.
