Detail of Victorian facades in San Francisco

Straight lines

I'm a sucker for these types of scenes. This was late in the afternoon, and the sun was hitting these Victorian houses in San Franscisco at a severe angle. This kind of jumbled assembly of severe lines always catches my eye.

A propos of nothing, I tried out some samples of the new inkjet paper everyone has been speaking so highly of, Crane's Silver Rag. To my great surprise, I was not at all impressed. I had been hoping for deeper blacks, particularly for B&W prints, but instead I got fairly feeble blacks, compromised by the sheen of the not-quite-matte surface. So my current choice of paper stands: Moab's Entrada Natural 300gsm cotton rag. Highly recommended.
