The Golden Gate Bridge, seen from Alcatraz Island

So close and yet so far away

This is the Golden Gate bridge, as seen from Alcatraz Island, the famous penitentiary (now a state park) in the middle of San Franscisco Bay.

Alcatraz, of course, famously taunted its inmates with sweeping views of San Francisco, the Bay, and the hustle and bustle of life on the Outside. The views from the island were indeed impressive.

Shot of the day is Winter Cytherea on DailySnap.

What a great shot. You choose the perfect day to get out there and get the shot!

Cool shot... The blue toning suits it well and the strong vignetting adds interest to the sky and emphasises the horizon. Well done.
