Sunrise over a village in Tuscany, Italy

The joys of being up early

Somehow (don't ask me how) I managed to motivate myself enough while we were in Tuscany to drag myself out of bed and drive around to take pictures in the early morning on a couple different occasions. The only other time I can reliably manage this feat is when I get up to go snowboarding back home in the winter.

The thing is, I really like being up for dawn. Everything is still and quiet, and in the warmer months, there is often a fine mist over everything. I have several images from dawn in Tuscany; here is one.

Photo of the day is today's shot (they don't really have titles) on Express Train, which always features shots from the NYC subway system.
