An artist selling his wares on the street, Krakow

Working on the next piece

Tourist season is getting into gear in Eastern Europe, which means the streets in the picturesque parts of towns are becoming inhabited by artists hawking their sketches, watercolors, etchings, photographs and other depictions of the beautiful city they live in.

Here's one such artist; I thought he was picturesque in his own right, what with the pipe he's puffing away on, and his oversize, rugged hands (not sure if you can make out the proportions in the web-size image). After he heard the shutter snap for this frame, he looked up and gave me a big smile.
