St Mary's church, during a spring snowstorm, Krakow

A chilly surprise

Imagine our surprise and dismay when, on the second day after our arrival in Krakow, we woke up to a snowstorm! Undaunted, we bundled up and ventured out; it was actually kind of fun, in a how-strange-is-this sort of way. The Krakovians I saw seemed just as stern and dour as ever, but we ran into some English tourists later who said that they ran out into the snow to play and throw snowballs.

Anyway, here is a view of St Mary's church, that dominates the old town square in Krakow. I wasn't very far from the church at all; maybe a few hundred feet, but as you can see, it was partially whited-out.

Beautiful picture. Love the way the principle image is subdued by the snow.
