Sunrise at Dead Horse Point, Utah

Sunrise over the Colorado

The river visible in the valley 2,000 feet below the overlook at Dead Horse Point is the Colorado. I took this image the same morning as yesterday's, as the run rose. As I recall, it was cold enough that I could see my breath and had to breathe on my hand to keep them warm enough to work the camera. Even though I had read about it, I was surprised at the temperature extremes; we were in Utah in the spring, and the temperatures during the day would sometimes crack 80F, but they were near freezing at night.

I'm heading up to the mountains again tomorrow; maybe I'll get some fresh imagery.
