Snow melting off a pine branch, near Glacier, Washington

Rising freezing levels

When I went for a walk near our mountain cabin on Sunday morning, the freezing level had risen dramatically overnight. The trees were busy shedding snow, and it fell with heavy thumps onto cars, houses, and pedestrians like me minding their own business and walking around.

I mounted my macro lens before heading out with the idea of getting shots like this. I got a few shots I was happy with of detail like this.
