Tag the world, I suppose

On my walk last weekend, I tended to notice things that had been "tagged" with graffiti. I'm always of two minds about graffiti; sometimes, murals or more thoughtful pieces of work are quite attractive, and we've all seen striking panoramas of extensively painted rail cars, urban walls, or other structures where someone put a lot of time and effort into producing an attractive piece of art.

On the other extreme, though, is pointless "tagging" with a symbol, like here. I'm not sure this really adds anything of value to the world, although I guess my attention was captured enough to bother snapping this image...
