"Contrast" theme, image #2

I've been thinking about / playing with contrast lately, so I will be posting a set of images where contrast manipulations are central. This is one such image, since I upped the scene's contrast to bring out the drama of the sky.

Are manipulations like this "legitimate"? This is an endless debate, but I think of the images I produce as photorealistic impressions of the world, not photojournalism. I'm not shooting for fidelity or the realistic portrayal of fact, I'm aiming to convey what the world subjectively looks like through my eyes. The dramatic sky was why I took this picture, so I've made the sky as dramatic as possible.

Update: This image was entered in the Photo Friday Challenge under the theme "Pink", and was chosen as a "noteworthy" image by visitor vote. Thank you to all who voted!

Wow!

I'd like to hear somebody actually say no, don't touch the picture. This image is a cooperation between nature and you - with a very good result:) If nature wasn't involved, would it be art? Certainly... See where I am going?

Amazing sky, and the building looks great. I would do the same amount with the contrast If I felt what I saw at the time I took the photo warranted it.

And any how, it looks great so who cares!

That's a great shot!
A little contrast that makes for a better photo is fine with me.

Very dramatic shot. Nice.

The debate between art and photorealism will go on forever. I however don't care since the image speaks for itself. And boy does this image speak to me! I absolutely love it whether real or manipulated. Great work!

I particularly like the reflections in the glass of the building. Looks almost like jelly.

Thats a very creative shot! The framing and colour of the sky look great.
