Our baby daughter, in her grandfathers' hands

One Hundred!

This is the one hundredth straight image posted on chromalark. So far, I've managed to maintain a one-image-a-day pace, although no promises that I'll be able to keep this up indefinitely!

The holidays have involved a parade of family members coming through town to visit our new arrival. My father arrived last night, and although I shy away from posting too many baby pictures (who want to look at other people's children?), I thought this one was striking enough to warrant distribution. It's him holding our baby daughter, whom he met for the first time yesterday.

Technical blather: It's getting so that zoom lenses are a complete novelty to me. I don't think any of my last 2,000 frames or so were shot with non-prime lenses! I've gone back to my 35mm f/2 prime for the past few hundred shots, and have rediscovered how nice it is for close-quarters interior work on my 20D. I think it's a more useful length, and sharper, than my 28mm f/2.8, not to mention slightly faster.

Update: This image was entered in the Photo Friday Challenge under the theme "Masculine".

Touching capture! Amazing how small the baby is compared to Grandpa's!!

I really dig the functional simplicity and performance of prime lenses. Amazing picture, Maiken.

That's an amazing shot. Prime lenses are really sharper than any other lenses.
