Still getting used to the world
I'm pre-empting the last shot from Magnuson Park to post this one, since it seems appropriate for the new Photo Friday challenge, "depth of field".
My daughter was born October 22nd of this year, and it's hard to believe she will soon be two months old. I used her arrival as an excuse to get a macro lens for taking detail pictures like this, so I figured it was mandatory for me to eventually get around to posting a couple of them.
One of the difficult things about macro work, of course, is that depth-of-field becomes ludicrously restricted at high magnification. This shot was taken with the lens wide open at f/2.8 for deliberate effect, but notice how her eyebrows and the bridge of her nose are a complete blur!
Update: This image was entered in the Photo Friday Challenge under the theme "Depth of Field".
