Freeway Dusk

Interstate 5 in Seattle, at dusk

Apocalypse now

This is an older image than the past few postings from around the Pike Place Market. I took it when I was out wandering around on my own, heading for a doughnut shop on Capitol Hill. I stopped by a freeway overlook with a view back towards downtown as the sun was setting and snapped this.

This image's claim to fame is that I managed to use a very slow shutter speed by bracing myself against the concrete guardrail. The slow shutter produces the streaky effect for car lights, obviously. I kind of pushed the envelope with the braced-hand-holding: it doesn't show in the smaller web version of the image, but the sharpness level is just barely acceptable.
