A ferry sailing from Seattle into Puget Sound

More fun with long lenses

I took this shot from Alki Beach, across from Seattle, on a cloudy day, playing around with my 80-200mm lens.

I let the clouds dominate the scene here to emphasize the loneliness of the ferry, and its smallness when compared to the sweep of the sky overhead. In truth, of course, the ship shown here is an imposingly large vessel, carrying cars on two lower decks with passenger lounges above. I'm not entirely sure which route this ferry was running on, although it might have been the crossing to Bainbridge Island.
