Gloom and leaves
It's been pretty grey in Seattle lately, but not for the reason you think. There's been a big high-pressure ridge sitting over the city, so it hasn't been raining at all. It has, however, been very foggy at night, and low clouds have been hanging over the city for most of the day.
Anyhow, I printed this image pretty dark to get across the gloomy fall atmosphere when I took it. I was out for a walk near my house and was drawn, as always, by the geometric shapes of locked-up bicycles, although I think this earlier post of mine is in many ways a more compelling image (mostly because it's simpler).
I guess I need to work some more on my oblique-compositions. The older image is a much "squarer" composition, and more typical of my "comfort zone". This newer image was from me deliberately trying to shoot more diagonal forms.
