Enter the bluebird
Here's another detail of a Blue Bird school bus near my house. This image makes the title more obvious than yesterday's image.
I was talking to my good friend John Thimsen today about photography, and he told me that for him, photography is a quasi-meditative experience. He said he finds it calming to focus on achieving the careful attentiveness that photography requires. This was very resonant to me: I credit the time I've devoted to photography with making me more calmly aware of the world around me. Maybe the simple lines of this door handle appeal to you, and maybe they don't. But they appealed to me, and I've developed the habit of looking at the world around me as art in motion. This makes for a richer life!
One last interesting aspect of this image: you can see me reflected, albeit heavily stretched and distorted, in the chrome of the handle.
