Winston, with his owner, in Seattle

One more animal image

I was taking pictures in a park near my house on Capitol Hill this past summer, and this fellow was hanging out with his dog, enjoying the sun. I had a short chat with him, and took a couple of frames of the two of them. Winston, as may not be immediately apparent, is very old, and moved with great deliberation. He was friendly in a mellow "I'm old" sort of way. Mostly he stood around blinking in the sun.

I like this image because it conveys very well how these two were spending their time in the park: Winston's owner was enjoying a cigarette, and watching the world go by, in no rush to be anywhere or do anything, and Winston himself was content to sort of gaze towards the sun and enjoy the warmth. The two's temperments seemed nicely matched.
