Here is a friendly policeman doing his part to improve the image of the SPD.

The SPD's relationship with the citizenry has been pretty strained at times; there are recurring charges of racism, and of course there were ugly confrontations at the time of the WTO demonstrations / riots some years ago. I was surprised, though, on the day of the Gay Pride parade, to snap this picture. The woman shown had walked up to the policeman and asked if she could have her friend take a picture of her with the cop and his motorcycle. The cop seemed happy to agree, and I was standing nearby as they posed. I am happy to say that neither woman was shot or bludgeoned after this went down.
